About RDI Program

Christine is currently not taking on any more RDI families.

Relationship Development Intervention (RDI®) is a social-emotional and relationship approach to strengthen, repair, and grow healthy, productive relationships between parents and children.

This at-home and parent-facilitated program is especially helpful for parents who have difficulty communicating, guiding, or supporting their children's emotions, behaviours, and neurodevelopment. RDI restores mindful and authentic relationships that feel natural and sustainable to parents and children because RDI's social and emotional connections are the foundation of all human civilizations.  RDI is compatible with families from different cultures and neurodiversity.

For autistic individuals and those with other neurodevelopmental differences,  RDI provides the tools needed so that they can thrive and be resilient in the highly complex and rapidly changing modern world.  They can experience reciprocal friendships, independence, and in many cases, marriage and successful family life.

Parents, grandparents, and teachers learn how to mindfully guide children with challenges to overcome obstacles to growth and development. RDI turns parents from the referee, police, entertainer, and servants into teammates, guides, and mentors. Adults learn to use the activities of daily life to embed safe, but challenging experiences for the child.  Children learn to respond in more flexible, thoughtful ways to novel, increasingly unpredictable settings and problems. Safety, trust, and resiliency emerge as children learn they can make more sense of our continually complex world. Real-world competence emerges as they take ever-greater responsibility for conquering difficulties and real-life challenges in diverse and collaborative settings.
